WE ARE HIRING — SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST, SPORTS PARTNERSHIPS LEAD
YS Physio | Alexandria, Sydney
At YS Physio, our mission is simple: to put the care back in healthcare. We're looking for an experienced, senior Physiotherapist who shares that mindset to lead our sporting partnerships, including long-standing relationships with local netball and AFL teams, as the primary focus of this role, with mentoring the wider clinic as a secondary part of what you'll do, as we build our next chapter.
This isn't an entry-level opening. We're after someone who's hungry, humble and smart. Someone with strong clinical judgement and people skills, who's ready to take real ownership of client outcomes, team development and our sporting partnerships, even if “leader” isn't a title they've claimed for themselves yet.
The role at a glance
Position: Senior Physiotherapist
Employment type: Full-time
Location: Alexandria, Sydney
Protected time: Dedicated non-clinical hours each week for mentoring, referral-building and sports program work — this sits alongside your caseload, not on top of it unpaid.
Sideline coverage: Evening and weekend netball and AFL coverage is on top of your standard clinic hours, and is paid as additional time
What good looks like: You measure success the way your clients do — not by symptoms easing, but by them getting back to what they love doing.
Why this role is different
You'll see a mix of sporting and general-population clients, with sport as the clear standout of the caseload. Alongside this you will be working on building relationships with our sports teams, including long-standing partnerships with local netball and AFL teams. ACL rehabilitation is a real area of clinical interest here, not an occasional case and you will be senior as a mentor in the clinic to the team.
Beyond the caseload, you'll have real influence in building out our sports program, as well as our referral relationships with surgeons and the wider community — all while putting the same level of care into every client who walks through our door, sporty or not.
Clinical responsibilities
Leading a mixed caseload with a strong sporting focus
Sideline and court-side coverage across our partner clubs and associations
Contributing to case planning, return-to-sport decisions and injury-report triage
Delivering the same standard of genuine, personalised care to sporting and general-population clients alike
Leadership & team responsibilities
Acting as a clinical mentor to our physiotherapy team and our international internship program (we've mentored 100+ students over the past decade)
Being a visible senior voice in the clinic — someone junior clinicians can learn from and clients trust immediately
Helping build our sports program and grow key referral relationships with surgeons and the wider community
What we offer
A genuinely senior position with real input into clinical direction and team growth, not just a caseload
Structured mentoring both ways — you'll mentor others, and you'll be backed by close, hands-on support from our Principal Physiotherapist
State-of-the-art facilities, including VALD technology and an AlterG anti-gravity treadmill, to support objective testing and return-to-sport decision-making
Opportunities to represent YS Physio's clinical reputation externally, including CPD delivery or industry education
A caseload that stands out for its sporting exposure, alongside meaningful general-population work
Involvement in an established international clinical education program
A collaborative, high-standards team culture — we're entering a new chapter, which means real opportunity to help define what comes next
Who we're looking for
Hungry, humble, smart — whether or not you'd call yourself a leader yet or not.
A physiotherapist with several years' experience in private practice, ideally with a background working with sports teams
Someone who genuinely cares about people and is driven to achieve great outcomes for every client, sporty or not
A genuine interest in women's sports, and the active, sporty clients who come with it
Confident, warm communicator who builds trust quickly with clients and teammates alike
Someone who wants to mentor others, not just be mentored
Comfortable with sideline/court-side coverage and the unpredictability that comes with it
Driven to help build something — our brand, our sports program, our team culture
